Challenges

  • Non-standardized appraiser meetings – Different offices and regions conducted yearly appraiser meetings in inconsistent ways, leading to a lack of uniformity.
  • Insufficient knowledge among managers regarding appraisals – Many managers and directors were dissatisfied with the professionalism demonstrated before, during, and after appraisal meetings.
  • Appraiser meetings and goal-setting not integrated into growth strategy – Instead of being seen as a strategic tool for fostering agility and innovation, these meetings were viewed as a burden rather than a key development component, as intended by top management.

Solution

  • JCO developed a multi-stage, comprehensive training program designed to enhance
    knowledge, provide practical guidance, and share best practices. The program included hands-on exercises where participants practiced real scenarios with a professional actor reenacting specific cases shared by attendees. The initiative was successfully rolled out across EMEA as a pilot for more regions.
